Wintipak and Goldbeck, together with Saxony-Anhalt’s Minister of Economic Affairs Sven Schulze, lay foundation stone for new production hall in Halle (Saale)

Wintipak is investing in the expansion of its production capacities at the Star Park industrial estate in Halle (Saale). Together with the Europe-wide construction and services company Goldbeck as general contractor, the manufacturer of aseptic packaging is now implementing the site’s third construction phase – a strong signal for industrial innovation, sustainable growth, and successful partnership.

Wintipak and Goldbeck today celebrate the laying of the foundation stone for a new production hall at Star Park Halle (Saale), together with Sven Schulze, Minister for Economic Affairs, Tourism, Agriculture and Forestry of Saxony-Anhalt. Completion is scheduled for June 2026. As general contractor, Goldbeck is responsible for planning and constructing the hall – economically, quickly, and sustainably, with customised functionality enabled by a systematised construction method. Key elements are prefabricated industrially in Goldbeck’s own plants and assembled precisely on site to form the finished building.

With the third construction phase at the site, Wintipak (formerly Greatview) is driving its expansion forward and focusing on sustainable, innovative solutions for the food and beverage industry. On an additional 11,800 square metres, Wintipak will produce aseptic carton packaging for liquid foods. A further 800 square metres in the mezzanine area will provide space for offices, storage areas, and technical rooms. The new hall will enable a capacity increase of around 30 percent, strengthening Wintipak’s position as a reliable partner to the international food and beverage industry.

The site has been in operation since 2013 and has developed into an important part of the regional economy. With this expansion, the company is investing strategically in its European production base and in the long-term security of jobs. “With the new production hall, we are creating space for innovation, growth, and long-term stability. It is a strong signal of our commitment to Germany and our ties to the Halle region,” says Markku Vauhkonen, Chief Executive Officer of Wintipak. Sebastian Bethge, Branch Manager at Goldbeck, adds: “Three construction phases, one strong partnership: our renewed collaboration with Wintipak is based on mutual trust and a shared understanding of efficient construction. Thanks to our systematised construction approach, we realise multifunctional production facilities like this one in Halle in the shortest possible time.”

“This renewed expansion investment by Wintipak and the close cooperation with Goldbeck are a clear commitment to the future viability of Saxony-Anhalt as a business location. They demonstrate not only the international competitiveness of our region, but also how successfully companies can grow and invest here. Saxony-Anhalt is and remains an attractive place for growth and international partnerships,” says Sven Schulze, Minister for Economic Affairs, Tourism, Agriculture and Forestry of Saxony-Anhalt.

Egbert Geier, Mayor of the City of Halle (Saale), adds: “Wintipak’s continued commitment and additional investment show that Halle (Saale) has what it takes. Our Star Park, our city as a dynamic regional centre in the Central German metropolitan region, and southern Saxony-Anhalt as a whole are attractive to businesses and investors. The site conditions are right. Once again, the City of Halle (Saale) and its partners have earned trust by providing direct and competent contacts, short decision-making paths, and not least by continuously developing the infrastructure at Star Park. I say confidently: Wintipak has made the right decision in investing here. This expansion further strengthens Halle’s reputation as a forward-looking business location.”
